Wright Pools built the hydrotherapy pool at Ryde Hospital, set in a bright room glazed to the reserve beyond. A tiled ramp and stainless rails run into the shallow end, so patients can enter the water with support and room for a therapist alongside.

The pool is finished in soft blue tiles with a darker band at the waterline, and a glass balustrade keeps the room open to the light.

Frequently asked

Hydrotherapy pool questions.

What is a hydrotherapy pool and how is it built?
A hydrotherapy pool is a warm-water pool used for rehabilitation, built here at Ryde Hospital for the rehabilitation team. It needs a controlled temperature, easy access and finishes that suit clinical daily use, which a poured concrete shell handles well.
How do patients get into the water safely?
A tiled ramp and stainless rails run into the shallow end, so patients can enter the water with support and room for a therapist alongside. The graded entry is built into the concrete shell rather than added afterwards.
Does Wright Pools build commercial and healthcare pools?
Yes. Alongside residential work, Wright Pools builds commercial and healthcare pools across Sydney, including hospital hydrotherapy pools. Our commercial pedigree runs back to 1968 under NSW licence 246552C.
