Our story
Wright Pools opened on the Northern Beaches in 1968 with one site, one client, and a single conviction. A pool poured in steel-reinforced concrete is the only pool worth building. Five decades later that conviction has not moved.
What has moved is the work. Belrose to Bellevue Hill, Mosman to Whale Beach. Taronga Zoo and the rooftops of the city. Hundreds of residential pools, plunge pools and lap pools. Apartment and strata pools. Hotel pools, public-venue pools, hydrotherapy and swim-school facilities. Water features for Taronga's lemur enclosure. Glass-fronted residential pools sitting above the coastline at Queenscliff.
The business is still family owned. Sons and grandsons of the founder run the projects. Clients who built with us in the 1980s now refer their children. The architects we work with most have worked with us longest.
How we work
Every Wright project moves on the same two words. Care, and forethought. Care in the build, in the materials, in the people who turn up on site. Forethought in the engineering and the drawings, so the surprises that derail a pool build are designed out before the first cut.
It is not a complicated philosophy. It is just the discipline of doing the unglamorous parts of a concrete build properly. Soil test before the design. Engineer the shell to the block, not to a template. Pour reinforcement that will outlast the house. Use stone and tile from people we know and trust. Stay on site until the client signs off and the cover comes on.
Most of our work comes back. Returning clients, returning architects, returning builders. We take a small number of projects each season so the work stays the work, and so the same Wright supervisor can carry the project from first measurement to handover.
