COMMERCIAL. CARLINGFORD

The Carl.

A communal lap pool for the residents of The Carl at Carlingford.

Location
Carlingford, NSW
Type
Commercial. Communal pool

The pool runs the length of the podium courtyard between the towers, tiled in deep blue mosaic and edged with timber decking and a glass balustrade. A raised section steps up at one end, with stainless rails and a tiled step entry into the shallow end.

Level coping lets the water sit flush with the deck, so the pool reads as part of the courtyard rather than behind a fence.

Frequently asked

Carlingford pool questions.

Can you build a communal pool in an apartment podium courtyard?
Yes. The Carl's pool runs the length of the podium courtyard between the towers, tiled in deep blue mosaic and edged with timber decking and a glass balustrade. It was built as a shared pool for the residents of the development.
How do you make a communal pool feel part of the courtyard?
Level coping lets the water sit flush with the deck, so the pool reads as part of the courtyard rather than something behind a fence. A raised section steps up at one end with stainless rails and a tiled step entry into the shallow end.
Does Wright Pools build pools on structural podium decks?
Yes. A podium pool sits on the building's structure, so the shell and waterproofing are planned with the deck below. This is core commercial work for Wright Pools, who have built across Sydney since 1968.
