WATER FEATURE. ZOO ENCLOSURE
A naturalistic pond and pathway built inside an African Savannah enclosure. Public-art specification. Built to the landscape drawings.
Zoo water features sit between architecture and habitat. The shell has to read as natural rock and gravel. The edge has to handle a bird walking across it. The plant room has to run quietly enough that animals settle around it. We pour the concrete and let the landscape team finish the surface so the joint between built and grown disappears.
This one was built under a landscape package for an African Savannah enclosure. Sandstone slabs were dry-set across the edge. The base reads as natural gravel. The water sits clean enough for the birds to stand in.
