This Sussex Street building carries water in two places. At the top, a communal pool for residents looks back over the city. At the base, a sequence of water features and planted walls lines the entry, so the building meets the street with movement and greenery rather than a blank wall.

The rooftop pool is tiled in a deep blue mosaic set against timber decking. At ground level, sheets of water run over backlit glass and down a living wall, lit to hold their own after dark.
