RESIDENTIAL. NORTHERN BEACHES
A poured concrete pool set into a Northern Beaches garden. The coping picks up the architecture of the house.
The brief sat in front of us on a single sheet of butter paper. A line, a curve, and the height of the coping over the lawn. The architect had already drawn the rest of the project the same way.
We poured a steel-reinforced concrete shell to suit the slope, with honed bluestone coping running the full length and a glass mosaic interior. The pool sits flush with the terrace on the house side and steps down to a lower deck at the far end. The water sits 30mm above the coping on the spillway face. A quiet feature, drawn into the architecture.
