Gupta Residence. Concrete Pool, North Bondi

The brief was a lap pool that read as one band of water against the Bondi sky. The block falls away to the east, so the pool sits high with an infinity edge along its far wall.

The shell is finished in a deep blue glass mosaic that shifts with the light. Sandstone coping ties it to the terrace, and a run of wall spouts feeds the surface from the garden side. The result is a pool that works as hard for swimming as it does for the view.

Yes. The Gupta block falls to the east, so the pool sits high with an infinity edge along its far wall. A concrete shell can be engineered to hold that raised position and carry the water to a level edge.
