NORTHERN BEACHES. FAIRLIGHT
Steel-reinforced concrete pools drawn for steep harbour blocks in Fairlight. Designed and built by a family practice in Belrose since 1968.
Building in Fairlight
Fairlight sits between Manly and Balgowlah, a quiet run of period homes and renovated cottages on harbour-view streets. Most blocks sit on Hawkesbury sandstone running down to the harbour, with the land steep blocks falling toward Sydney Harbour. We read those conditions before a line goes on the page.
On a Fairlight site the first question is access, and here that means tight streets and steep falls, where excavated rock often has to be craned out. Once that is sorted we draw the shell to the block. A plunge pools is the build we put on these blocks most often.
Fairlight is about 23 minutes from Belrose, so our supervisors are on sites nearby through the week. One Wright supervisor stays on your project from excavation to handover, with no subcontractor chain.
