NORTHERN BEACHES. NEWPORT
Steel-reinforced concrete pools drawn for beach-to-Pittwater blocks in Newport. Designed and built by a family practice in Belrose since 1968.
Building in Newport
Newport runs from the surf beach across to Pittwater, a mix of beach houses and family homes. The blocks run on Hawkesbury sandstone, with sand near the beach, a low strip between the ocean beach and Pittwater, rising on the hills. Each of those things changes how a pool is engineered.
Access shapes the build before anything else. In Newport that means mixed, from workable flat blocks to steep hillside sites. From there we draft a concrete shell to the slope and the light, often a lap pools on a block like this.
Newport is about 24 minutes from Belrose, so our supervisors are on sites nearby through the week. One Wright supervisor stays on your project from excavation to handover, with no subcontractor chain.
