NORTHERN BEACHES. WHALE BEACH
Steel-reinforced concrete pools drawn for headland view sites in Whale Beach. Designed and built by a family practice in Belrose since 1968.
Building in Whale Beach
Whale Beach is a quiet enclave of homes on steep headland blocks between Palm Beach and Avalon. Most blocks sit on Hawkesbury sandstone on the headland, with the land steep headland blocks falling to the ocean. We read those conditions before a line goes on the page.
On a Whale Beach site the first question is access, and here that means steep, tight blocks where rock is craned out and shotcrete is pumped down the fall. Once that is sorted we draw the shell to the block. A infinity edges is the build we put on these blocks most often.
Whale Beach is about 33 minutes up the peninsula from Belrose, so our supervisors are on sites nearby through the week. One Wright supervisor stays on your project from excavation to handover, with no subcontractor chain.

We built the Whale Beach Residence here, a low wet-edge shell facing the ocean. It is the kind of headland pool this suburb suits. See more in the full gallery, or read our residential approach.
