NORTHERN BEACHES. SCOTLAND ISLAND
Steel-reinforced concrete pools drawn for offshore island blocks in Scotland Island. Designed and built by a family practice in Belrose since 1968.
Building in Scotland Island
Scotland Island is an offshore community in Pittwater, homes reached only by boat or barge. The ground here is Hawkesbury sandstone, and the land sits steep island blocks above the water. That mix shapes every pool we draw.
Access here means no road bridge, so plant, steel and concrete come across by barge, which we plan around from the start. We plan the approach before a price goes out. Concrete is the only material that lets us cut a pool to a site like this, which is why a plunge pools usually suits a Scotland Island block.
Scotland Island is reached by barge from Church Point, about 25 minutes from Belrose plus the water crossing, so our supervisors are on sites nearby through the week. One Wright supervisor stays on your project from excavation to handover, with no subcontractor chain.
